Description
The Tarot thru History takes you on a captivating journey through the evolution of tarot, blending historical depth with personal reflections from an experienced tarot reader. This is a guide to understanding how tarot transformed from a simple card game in medieval Europe into a profound tool for mysticism, divination, and self-discovery.
Delve into the origins of tarocchi in 15th-century Italy, explore its transition into the hands of occultists like Etteilla and Court de Gébelin , and see how the Golden Dawn shaped tarot's modern identity. Discover the impact of key figures such as Arthur Edward Waite , Aleister Crowley , and Pamela Colman Smith , and learn how their visionary decks—the Rider-Waite-Smith and Thoth Tarot —redefined the practice.
This book also explores the deeper symbolism of the tarot, from numerology to Kabbalah and astrology, while reflecting on how these systems have personally shaped the author's approach to reading. Modern readers will find insights into tarot's resurgence in the 20th century, its intersection with Jungian psychology, and its rise in the digital world with online readings and tarot apps.
