Chestnuts and cold cuts: A Corsican Investigation (Corsican Cozy Crimes)

In the middle of summer, the heatwave of the Corsican maquis shelters a huge house with welcoming freshness.

We find here, on the occasion of the holidays, a whole bunch of characters, all different and all very special!
From a Russian who barely speaks French and spends his time saying I don't understand, to a Swedish couple with a record of hyperactive triplets, to an asocial hypochondriac and a facetious kid as tall as three apples, we're not bored!
Yet the days seem to be passing peacefully in the intimacy of this community lodge, run by the stinking Odette, a truculent octogenarian.
But... a detonating event is about to shake up the tranquility of the place. Burglary, Mafia, police trampling, centennial fit as a fiddle... Add to that Commissioner Lanfranchi, who is more focused on himself than on the investigation, followed like a shadow by an instant biographer, with Critérium and Moleskine, and you will easily understand why the investigation will immediately take place on the spot.
Luckily Odette is here, endowed with an infallible and snooping flair, who will conduct her own investigations, at the request of twice fifty-year-old Mr Santoni, victim of the burglary.
Everyone in this world has something to hide that could make him a potential suspect. How then do we separate the wheat from the weeds?
But Odette is patient and picky. No detail escapes her and she has no equal in putting together the pieces of the puzzle.
And even if there will be plenty of pitfalls, she will find the most valuable allies to offer us a final twist as spicy as Corsican charcuterie.
Amidst all these tangled tracks, will you be able to unmask the culprit before our investigator's final revelations?

What a great surprise!
This cosy mystery is a really nice surprise!
It is very well written, both in terms of style and spelling, which is not always the case with self-published books. But on top of that, the characters are very well worked and colorful, and the plot is very well twisted, with an Agatha Christie ending, as I like them.
I can't wait to read the other volumes!

A COSY MYSTERY NOT TO MISS
An excellent cozy mystery that highlights the authentic, clever and fun character of Odette LEFEVRE aka Mrs. EMOSSE.
At almost eighty years old, Granny is full of resources. Seven cats, chickens, a forest estate of eight hectares in addition to the cottage and the survey: a super granny! It progresses by touch. It offers us a well-knitted outcome in a funny and full-bodied climate.
Congratulations to the author!!!
