Designing Rooms with Joie de Vivre: A Fresh Take on Classic Style

Interior designer Amanda Reynal brings her signature blend of color, pattern, and livable elegance to Designing Rooms with Joie de Vivre , her debut book celebrating homes designed for real life―busy households, frequent entertaining, and everyday moments shared with family and friends.

Known for creating interiors that feel both polished and welcoming, Reynal offers a fresh take on classic style that prioritizes comfort, personality, and joy.

Working across a range of homes, Reynal reveals how to create spaces that are visually rich yet highly functional―rooms that dazzle with bold color, layered textures, and thoughtful details but remain inviting and easy to live in. Her approach moves beyond formal decorating, embracing a more relaxed, personality-driven aesthetic that reflects how people actually use their homes.

Organized around foundational design principles, each chapter builds from core rules to practical application―showing how to work with color in accessible ways, introduce “wow moments” like patterned ceilings, layer furnishings for comfort, and use small details to transform a room. The result is a guide that feels both inspiring and usable, balancing visual impact with real-world decorating solutions.

Filled with vibrant photography and joyful interiors, Designing Rooms with Joie de Vivre stands out as a fresh voice in interior design―perfect for readers who love classic style but want it to feel more relaxed, expressive, and aligned with modern living.
