Bandits of Basswood : John William Drake Part One

One boy.

One secret.

One legacy powerful enough to change the fate of the realm.

John William Drake was born into a bloodline whispered about in old journals and buried in forgotten maps—a long line of explorers bound not just by curiosity, but by a legacy older than kingdoms. For centuries, the Drakes were guardians of ancient magic, tasked with protecting powerful relics left behind by the makers, mysterious beings said to have shaped the rivers, stars, and skies.

But that legacy shattered the night John’s father disappeared, and everything truly changed when a rune-covered book, sealed with wax and time, fell from the attic ceiling of the Drake home. The book didn’t just hum with magic. It called to him.

Then came the invitation from a stranger cloaked in mist: “Follow me and change your destiny.”

That choice led John into the shadowed waters of Basswood, where he’s captured by the Bandits—ruthless riverfolk known for plundering ancient relics and trading in forbidden spells. Their ship creaks with the weight of old enchantments, and the river itself seems to remember things it shouldn't.

Escape is said to be impossible. Survival, unlikely. But when John finds traces of his father—he knows he must risk everything.
Because this isn't just a rescue mission anymore.

This is a race to reclaim a legacy older than legends… and awaken the ancient power hidden in his blood before it falls into the wrong hands.

The Magic is ancient.
The legacy is his.
In Bandits of Basswood, the fight has just begun.
