Description
The spectacular landscape of Saint Lucia is dominated by two extinct volcanoes. The UNESCO recognized their environment as Natural World Heritage because of its importance to the collective interests of humanity. One of the five endemic bird species living there decorates the coat of arms of the Caribbean island state: the St. Lucia Amazon. Because of the number of bird species with restricted range occurring in this area - including three species of hummingbirds - BirdLife International assigned it a part of a Primary Endemic Bird Area (EBA-P).
This multilingual (en, fr, es, de, ja, cn) bird guide presents the entire bird life of Saint Lucia in color. As a bonus, links to HD videos of 27 bird species are included. Where available, links to the valuable websites of UNESCO, BirdLife International and the Ramsar Organization are provided, which characterize the country and help to find the best sites for birdwatching.
